Matte and Nude lipsticks are all the rage right now, but they don’t work for everyone. Matte or nude colors can be drying, and have a tendency to age the face beyond its years. Choosing a color that’s a bit brighter and has some gloss (sheen) to it will give new life to your lips and provide added moisture to make them appear fuller and feel better.
2. Cream and Liquid Products
Lines happen to us all, and powder foundations and blushes like to settle in like age does. After a day of wear, your powder can clump together in the fine lines of your face, making you look older than you are. Cream and liquid foundation, blushes, and even shadows will negate that effect - plus many of them come with SPF built in, which helps prevent premature aging.
3. Highlighting Your Brows
You won’t look like a disco ball when you use highlighter correctly, trust us. Highlighter is used mostly on the very top of your cheekbone to show off your facial structure, but a little bit under the brow bone draws the eyes up and helps create a youthful look. Be careful not to use too much, as it can look like your shadow ran away from your eyes if you’ve got too heavy of a hand.
It’s important when your skin was young, and it’s MOST important now. Moisturizing your skin properly is one of the best ways to keep it healthy and glowing. Healthy skin is youthful skin, and moisturized skin is healthy skin. A nighttime routine that factors in your favorite anti-aging moisturizers and serums will keep you looking dewy & youthful throughout your day. Make sure you are protecting your skin in the daytime from the elements too!
5. Put Down the Tweezers
Unless you are constantly surprised, overplucked eyebrows are never a good look. Even though it was popular in the 90s (for reasons we still don’t understand), full brows are a much better and modern look for 99% of women. Keeping stray hairs in check and filling in your eyebrows with a cream or pencil that matches your natural hair color pulls your entire look together with almost no added effort. Plus, you’ll save money on waxing. For women that have gone through menopause, make sure to use a magnifying glass to catch those stray whiskers too!
